Right-click on a schedule item or use the toolbar to add tags to a selected schedule.

If the OPC server is connected you will be able to browse the server and multiple-select tags to be added to the schedule. Add multiple tags from the OPC server and a Source Tag for each selection will be created with the server assigned name as it's default name If the server is not connected or does not support tag browsing you will be able to define individual tags manually with the tag properties form. You may not add duplicate tags (with the same AccessName) to the same schedule.

If your OPC server does not support browsing you may wish to import tags via a CSV file.  The file format is two comma delimited columns.  The first column is the server specific AccessName and the second column is the tag's object name.  You can simply use a single column of the AccessNames and they will also be used as the default object Name.

Right-click or double-click on a tag in the grid or use the toolbar to access the tag's property sheet.

Name - Give the tag a descriptive name.

Description - Add additional information to be saved with the tag.

Parent - Parent object in the tree.

AccessName - The server specific access name.  If you know a tag's access name you may type it in directly however, with some OPC servers you may need to disconnect and reconnect the server to get proper communications to start.

AccessRights - The server defined read/write access rights.

DataType - The .NET System data type of the tag.

ServerError - Additional server specific error informaion.

Connected - Indicates if the tag is defined in the OPC Group.

Enabled - Indicates if the tag is enabled in the OPC Group.

Select and right-click on the tag of interest and select the "Write..." pop-up menu item to write to the tag.  If the tag is read-only the "Write..." pop-up menu item will not appear.  Use one of the write forms to write values.
